Mental Health Awareness Week 2025: BGEN’s Commitment to Wellbeing
At BGEN, we know that well-being, especially mental wellbeing, is the foundation of a happy, productive life. As a people-first company, we understand the impact mental health has on both work and home life. That’s why we’re dedicated to creating a culture where support, understanding, and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do.
What We’re Doing for Mental Health Awareness Week
This year, Mental Health Awareness Week has given us another opportunity to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health and the steps we can all take to support one another.
We’ve planned a series of events and initiatives designed to promote awareness, foster understanding, and equip our team, clients, and contractors with tools to prioritise their wellbeing. Highlights include:
- Inspiring Talks: We recently welcomed Ian Smith and Jimmy Gittins from State of Mind Sport, who shared their powerful personal stories and reminded us of the importance of creating a supportive culture.
- Educational Webinars: Throughout the week, we’re hosting webinars that tackle key topics, such as neurodiversity in the workplace, to help us all better understand and support our colleagues.
- Volunteering Opportunities: Giving back to the community is a vital part of wellbeing, and we’re encouraging our teams to take part in activities that make a difference.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Of course, supporting mental health isn’t just about one week it’s about the culture we cultivate every day. At BGEN, this includes:
- Training Over 200 Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring there’s always someone available to provide guidance and support.
- An Enhanced Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that offers confidential, professional help to employees, clients, and contractors.
- Creating a Culture of Understanding, where conversations about mental health are not only welcomed but encouraged.
Why It Matters
Mental health is something we all share, and supporting it is a shared responsibility. By working together, we can ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued, no matter their challenges.
