BGEN delivered a full turnkey solution to support a global materials manufacturer with the international relocation of a complete production line, providing technical training, targeted PLC/HMI upgrades, structured decommissioning, and fully compliant export preparation.
Client Requirement
A global materials manufacturer required a turnkey solution to relocate a full production line to an international destination. This included technical training for their overseas installation team, targeted process modifications to the existing PLC and HMI systems, and the complete decommissioning of all electrical and mechanical components on site. They also needed a Principal Contractor to manage safety, planning, access control, and temporary site facilities.
In addition, the global materials manufacturer required all plant and equipment to be packed, documented, and shipped internationally with full export compliance, followed by specialist support during reinstallation and commissioning.
Our Solution
BGEN provided a fully integrated approach covering training, engineering, decommissioning, packing, and international logistics. The team delivered hands‑on technical training to familiarise the overseas engineers with the equipment and control systems. Process modifications were carried out, including PLC and HMI updates, new control logic, and all associated documentation.
A structured decommissioning programme was executed, with equipment isolated, labelled, removed, and prepared for shipping while updating as‑built drawings where required. Acting as Principal Contractor, BGEN managed site safety, temporary infrastructure, and all handling equipment. Custom shipping bases were manufactured, sensitive electrical panels were foil‑bag protected, and all components were documented and prepared for international shipment.
The project concluded with BGEN supervisors and a commissioning engineer supporting the overseas team to ensure correct reinstallation and a smooth return to operation.
Client Benefits
The global materials manufacturer gained a smooth, low‑risk relocation of a complex production line, supported by a clearly defined process from decommissioning through to recommissioning. The structured approach ensured that every component was safely isolated, accurately labelled, and properly documented, enabling efficient reassembly at the destination site.
The comprehensive export preparation, including custom bases, protective packaging, and complete shipping documentation, ensured the equipment travelled securely and cleared international logistics without delay. Having a single partner manage both technical and logistical elements reduced coordination effort and minimised the risk of errors.
With BGEN’s specialists supporting reinstallation and commissioning, the global materials manufacturer experienced reduced downtime and a faster return to full operation. The updated PLC/HMI functionality also strengthened future system performance, giving them long‑term operational stability.
