Energy and GHG emissions

Monitoring and managing the energy consumption and emissions (i.e. CO2) of BGEN’s direct and indirect activities as well as of the entire value chain. Furthering sustainable initiatives that drive down energy-use and emissions.

Waste and resource efficiency

This refers to all resources that contribute to the commercial process of BGEN. In an office environment, this may include the embodied carbon in furniture, rare metals and plastic in computer equipment, or raw materials in paper. Natural resources are used in electricity generation or heating and cooling processes. It includes the reduction of resource use as well as the transition to renewable resources. Waste becomes one of the resources to be carefully managed between waste avoidance and keeping it in the industrial process. Waste needs to be managed adequately, following relevant legislation.

Business ethics and transparency (including Human rights and Modern Slavery)

Openness regarding, and adherence to, generally accepted standards and values and compliance with local statutory and other rules and regulations, particularly with respect to the acquisition and performance of contracts.  Human rights and modern slavery Legislation requires BGEN to uphold the human rights across their operations as well as to ensure that partners up and down the value chain adopt the same high standards of integrity.

Infrastructure critical project quality and safety

BGEN’s clients are at the heart of society’s infrastructure. Their uninterrupted operations are of the highest priority. BGEN needs to excel at project delivery to ensure quality & safety and to be a suitable partner. Standardisation of project delivery is key to ensuring the highest levels of quality.
