BGEN is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Marlow as Managing Director of its newly established Infrastructure SBU, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to deliver more integrated, scalable, and efficient solutions for clients across critical sectors.
The new Infrastructure SBU brings together Maintenance, LV/Manufacturing, SI/Digital and Projects into a single, unified operating model. This structure is designed to enhance collaboration between teams, streamline delivery, and create a stronger platform to support BGEN’s long‑term growth ambitions.
Ian joins BGEN with over 40 years of leadership experience gained across the military and major engineering organisations. He has successfully led multi‑site businesses of more than 2,000 people with turnover exceeding £120M and is widely recognised for building high‑performing teams and driving operational excellence across complex environments.
“Integrating these functions presents a significant opportunity to strengthen how we deliver for our clients,” said Ian Marlow. “By aligning our people, processes and capabilities, we can operate more efficiently, share expertise more effectively, and provide a more consistent, high‑quality service across the full lifecycle of projects. This structure will enable us to support clients with greater confidence as their requirements continue to evolve.”
The creation of the Infrastructure SBU, under Ian’s leadership, will deliver several strategic benefits for clients and partners, including:
- Improved operational efficiency through better alignment of engineering, manufacturing, digital and site delivery
- More seamless project execution, supported by coordinated planning and shared accountability
- Enhanced technical capability, driven by closer collaboration and integrated delivery pathways
