Wellbeing

As part of International Stress Awareness Week, BGEN is taking the opportunity to reflect on the importance of mental health and the steps we’re taking to better support our people.

Working in high-pressure environments can bring real challenges, and stress is something many in our industry experience. At BGEN, we are committed to creating a culture of care, resilience, and open dialogue throughout our organisation.

Taking Steps in the Right Direction

We’ve introduced a number of resources to help our teams access support when they need it. These include:

24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): Confidential help available every day of the year, covering a wide range of personal and professional issues.

Mental Health First Aiders: Trained colleagues across the business who are available to listen and signpost support.

Zero Suicide Alliance Training: Free online courses that help colleagues recognise signs of distress and respond appropriately.

Specialist Helplines and Apps: Including the “Wisdom” app, “Stay Alive” app, and the Construction Industry Helpline.

We know that having resources is only part of the solution. Building a culture where people feel safe to speak up and seek help is fundamental to making a difference.

Backed by M Group

As part of M Group, BGEN benefits from shared resources and support systems that span the wider organisation. M Group’s investment in mental health awareness and access to services strengthens our ability to care for our people and encourages a more open dialogue across all divisions.

“Supporting our people is essential, and we’re committed to making sure that mental health is part of the conversation, not just during Stress Awareness Week, but every week.”
— Sarah Gazzard, Head of People at BGEN

This International Stress Awareness Week, we’re acknowledging the importance of mental health and the role we all play in supporting one another.
