Water

We provide cutting-edge technology solutions to ensure that the control of water treatment systems is efficient, sustainable, secure and cost-effective.

BGEN has many years’ experience in the water industry, operating in multiple frameworks in public utility companies. We work to the highest technical, quality and safety standards, and are fully aware of all regulatory compliance requirements relating to water systems.

We provide the latest innovations and digital solutions, enabling cost-effective modernisation, smart data handling, and efficiencies – all in a cybersecure environment. Whether you’re looking to digitise, or you need a full or partial upgrade of your water treatment system, our expertise and resources will provide the complete solution.

We offer mechanical engineering with electrical, instrumentation, control and automation services for:

  • water and wastewater treatment
  • water quality
  • sludge treatment
  • pumping stations
  • waste storage
  • reservoirs.

Our holistic approach to water management

We provide solutions for the complete water system – from pump and system FEED studies to the detailed design and delivery of fully automated system migrations and optimisation. We identify and deliver total solutions for optimum asset performance, clearly defined kWh/carbon savings, ROI, cybersecurity and totex.

Water engineering, instrumentation and control services

We provide an end-to-end service including project management, design, build, testing, delivery and on-site installation. We commission mechanical and electrical systems including:

  • motor control centers
  • remote pumping stations
  • PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
  • fibre/network solutions
  • instrumentation
  • water quality instrumentation boards
  • pumps
  • pipework
  • remote monitoring systems

Independent consultancy for water pump systems

We provide independent technical consultancy for pumps and systems to clients in the water, industrial and hydrocarbon markets. This can include:

  • strategic asset programme planning for energy efficiency
  • feasibility assessments for pump systems
  • pump station upgrades
  • system surveys
  • energy budgeting
  • project scope definition
  • pump system efficiency testing and modelling.

Testing and modelling water pump systems

Our experienced pump and system test engineers will conduct a full analysis of your pump system performance, including a comprehensive report and highly precise modelling of existing and predictive performance. They use specialised, highly accurate equipment for efficiency testing, including thermodynamic and/or ultrasonic testing.

By modelling the full system, we can use a simulated environment to optimise your water-supply pump systems. This low-risk approach enables you to accurately review various cost models and predict your energy savings. The full suite includes reservoir modelling to optimise tariff management and optimise the reduction in overall energy costs and consumption.

Pump system optimisation (PSOp) software

To maximise efficiency, we at BGEN have created our own PSOp software, using all of the pump and system characteristics available to meet your system demands. It permits full control of all pumps to their maximum efficiency and at the lowest specific energy consumption (SEC in kWh/Ml).

Design and build solutions for water systems

Our solutions have a strong reputation for quality, performance and cost-efficiency, whether a full or partial pumping station upgrade. We provide a fully integrated offer characterised by total project control, flexibility, a minimised interface and exemplary safety. We have our own in-house multi-disciplinary design and delivery engineering capabilities, along with CDM2015 principal designer and principal contractor abilities, enabling us to deliver the most cost-effective and time-efficient programme for your water system.

Major works control system upgrades

We are experts in major works control system upgrades for water systems, including PLC, HMI, SCADA and network replacements. We have a vast amount of experience in replacing legacy systems with the latest technology, thereby increasing automation levels and heightening security in line with the Networks and Information Systems (NIS) directive.

In compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, our project and site management teams can act as principal contractor and/or principal designer, ensuring that all aspects of your projects conform to health & safety legislation.

Our team of systems integration engineers offer a significant breadth of vendor-independent experience from across diverse industries, processes and platforms, based from 5 UK locations. We will work closely with you to ensure that your system migrations are seamless; we will develop detailed implementation plans, reducing process downtime during hardware migrations and providing full commissioning support and aftercare service support.
