Services provided
We were commissioned to provide charging points to 30 car parking bays as part of clients sustainability programme.
New car park includes EV charging points
The provision of charging points to a significant proportion of parking spaces forms part of the clients development strategy to support increasing numbers of staff on site and its commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.
The scope of the project involved the design and construction of a new car park located on a Brownfield site.. We undertook all responsibilities for the electrical engineering of the new lit 155 space car park, installing the latest technology for the EV charging points to the highest quality standard. In addition civil works were undertaken through engagement of a specialist 3rd party.
Energy efficient savings through a smart system
The multiple charging stations are controlled remotely from a hub. The easy and efficient management, combined with load balancing, results in an even distribution of power across the EV charging points. This means any future expansion of the site will also meet expected levels of increased demand.
Load balancing ensures that optimal charging is provided to all electric vehicles within the limits of the charging stations capacity. Not only does this preserve energy, but it also minimises any risks of overpowering and malfunction.
The “smart charging” service via the hub communication also allows for greater control and insight into charging behaviour and costs. A single source for multiple charging stations provides a time efficient system where remote maintenance and software updates can take place together, reducing the resource required to undertake these functions.
