Testing and modelling water pump systems
Our experienced pump and system test engineers will conduct a full analysis of your pump system performance, including a comprehensive report and highly precise modelling of existing and predictive performance. They use specialised, highly accurate equipment for efficiency testing, including thermodynamic and/or ultrasonic testing.
By modelling the full system, we can use a simulated environment to optimise your water-supply pump systems. This low-risk approach enables you to accurately review various cost models and predict your energy savings. The full suite includes reservoir modelling to optimise tariff management and optimise the reduction in overall energy costs and consumption.
Pump system optimisation (PSOp) software
To maximise efficiency, we at BGEN have created our own PSOp software, using all of the pump and system characteristics available to meet your system demands. It permits full control of all pumps to their maximum efficiency and at the lowest specific energy consumption (SEC in kWh/Ml).
Design and build solutions for water systems
Our solutions have a strong reputation for quality, performance and cost-efficiency, whether a full or partial pumping station upgrade. We provide a fully integrated offer characterised by total project control, flexibility, a minimised interface and exemplary safety. We have our own in-house multi-disciplinary design and delivery engineering capabilities, along with CDM2015 principal designer and principal contractor abilities, enabling us to deliver the most cost-effective and time-efficient programme for your water system.
Major works control system upgrades
We are experts in major works control system upgrades for water systems, including PLC, HMI, SCADA and network replacements. We have a vast amount of experience in replacing legacy systems with the latest technology, thereby increasing automation levels and heightening security in line with the Networks and Information Systems (NIS) directive.
In compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, our project and site management teams can act as principal contractor and/or principal designer, ensuring that all aspects of your projects conform to health & safety legislation.
Our team of systems integration engineers offer a significant breadth of vendor-independent experience from across diverse industries, processes and platforms, based from 5 UK locations. We will work closely with you to ensure that your system migrations are seamless; we will develop detailed implementation plans, reducing process downtime during hardware migrations and providing full commissioning support and aftercare service support.
EC&I aspects of the UK Water Industry
We specialise in installing and maintaining control and instrumentation (C&I) equipment located within the infrastructure assets of water utility companies.
Working with the majority of UK water companies, our expertise includes flow metering, pressure management, burst detection, data logging, telemetry, and level instrumentation.
By adding mechanical and minor civil engineering capabilities to our core EC&I skillsets, we have developed highly efficient, cost-effective, and rapid turnaround “one-stop-shop” solutions, including next-day installation of large-diameter flow meters.
On site services
Our on-site services encompass a wide range of solutions tailored to meet your needs. We specialise in minor tank wall repairs and asset condition surveys to identify the causes of failure. Our team provides comprehensive equipment repairs, including reassembly, painting, coating, site testing, and commissioning.
We excel in general machining services, such as turning, milling, cutting, hardening, slotting, drilling, grinding, balancing, metal spraying, and shot blasting. Additionally, our expertise includes welding services (including coded welding), brazing, and metal forming. We offer replacement and fabrication of new parts to meet OEM or specified standards, ensuring precision and reliability.
Our refurbishment services include dismantling, cleaning, inspection, and detailed failure analysis with comprehensive reporting. We also provide condition monitoring of repaired operational plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Our team manages the removal and re-installation of repaired equipment, reassembling ancillary components like guards, couplings, belts, and drives. We are equipped to handle pipework installations and repairs, mechanical drive connection and disconnection, and large-scale specialist cleaning of tanks and vessels (excluding inspection and testing).
Confined Space Rescue Services
Our rescue teams provide safety cover for all engineering works including water treatment plants, bridge work, shafts and tunnels.
We offer paramedic levels of medical cover with clinical governance and provision of ambulance if required.
We can assist people by ensuring they are properly equipped to safely enter confined spaces. Engineers, both ours and clients’, will be supported by an experienced rescue team providing the assistance, reassurance, recovery, first aid and treatment needed to ensure a safe outcome in the event of an incident.
Rope Access Techniques
Our industrial IRATA rope access services utilise climbing and abseiling techniques to provide cost-effective access to areas that would otherwise be inaccessible, impractical, unsafe, or too costly using conventional scaffolding or access platforms.
