Modular design and build
BGEN is a leading provider of mechanical and electrical prefabrication and modularisation services. These include a range of specialist off-site solutions that are more innovative and more cost-effective than traditional construction methods. We can design and build a range of modules and PAUs, such as:
- fully integrated process systems
- building services
- containerised switch rooms
- containerised control rooms
We manufacture standalone and kiosk-mounted MCCs; booster pump sets; wastewater pumping stations; chemical dosing skids and kiosks; and instrument backboards. Repeatability and programme visibility allow us to improve client service, proving cost and quality certainty.
Using design for manufacture and assembly, and off-site manufacturing techniques, our team will design, build, and install a mechanical and/or electrical modular solution which ensures the very highest levels of:

High-quality pipework design and manufacture service
We have the in-house expertise and experience to offer you high-quality pipework design and manufacture. All of our pipework is manufactured within purpose-built and managed environments, thereby minimising defects and delays.
From our modern 9,000 sq m fabrication facility at St Helens, we provide cost-effective and efficient fabrication services to the highest standards of safety and quality. This space and its layout are ideal for high-volume off-site fabrication, and our three covered fabrication bays allow for easy segregation of carbon, stainless, alloy and exotic materials.
Our highly skilled mechanical engineers and fabricators are trained in the latest fabrication, cutting and welding techniques. Our welding procedures comply to ASME IX, EN ISO 15614 and BS4515 standards, and our capabilities include manual metal arc, tungsten inert gas, orbital, and flux-cored arc welding.

Value added Engineering
Within our workshop we carry out mechanical assembly of pumping skids; fabrication of pipework manifolds in plastic; steel pipework and plastic housing fabrication and welding; mechanical fit out of kiosks; instrumentation backboard assembly; pipework sterilization and all acceptance testing prior to delivery.
At site, we carry out the installation of pumping stations; tanks, pipework and valve systems; OEM equipment; water and wastewater treatment systems; chemical dosing systems; instrumentation; and access steelwork.
We perform audit and asset management, DSEAR compliance consultancy, area classification, hazardous area inspection, and verification BS EN 60079-17 and BS EN 600-14 & BS7671, Water and Wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure and oil and gas and process.
To assist our mechanical and electrical delivery, we produce manufacturing and fabrication drawings; pumping station design; cable schedules and calculations using AMTECH; single line diagrams; containment details; loop termination diagrams; arrangement drawings and mechanical and electrical equipment schedules; and testing plans
Our mechanical team fabricate equipment skids in the workshop comprising pumps, tanks, valves, pipework and instrumentation which are connected by our electrical team, including actuated valves, instrumentation and drive motors solutions.
Our testing team will carry out full factory testing prior to delivery of any equipment to site. On site, our teams will carry out full mechanical and electrical installation inspection and testing, including pressure and sterilisation procedures.
Pipeline Leakage Solutions
We design, manufacture, and install bespoke specialist structural liners for both clean and dirty water assets that can be installed from within the existing host pipe.
We also have exclusive rights in the UK for the supply and installation of AMEX-10 seals—a cost-effective solution for pipeline leakage that reduces excavation requirements, as installers can traverse within the pipe to the installation location.
